Robert Walter Wells, better known to us all as Butch, age 79, went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 5, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on January 4, 1946 to Robert and Lovella Wells in Hominy, Oklahoma and was the younger brother to Judy and Janet. The family later moved to Oklahoma City.

Butch met his wife Mary while delivery newspapers as a junior high student. They were married November 11, 1967 after being drafted. Butch served in the Army's 1st Cavalry 2/12th Infantry in Vietnam and was a recipient of two Purple Hearts, The Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge and Air Assault Badge, as well as other recognitions. Upon his return to the states, Butch and Mary made their new home in Newcastle and he worked as an electrician for Dane Electric.

Butch and Mary raised their three daughters Kelli, Julie and Robyn in Newcastle where they attended and served at the First Baptist Church Newcastle.

He is survived by his wife Mary; his 3 children: Daughter Kelli and son-in-law Darren Casper; Daughter Julie and son-in-law Randy McDaniel; and daughter Robyn Wells. Grandchildren Jordan and wife Morgan Casper; Zac and wife Jamie Casper; Grace McDaniel, John McDaniel, and Jace Wells. Additionally, he is survived by his two sisters, Judy Wilson and Janet Crawford and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are held at Resthaven Funeral Home with Interment following on October 11, 2025.
