Robert Wever Obituary
Born in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late Robert and Doris (Miller) Wever.
An only child, Wayne became involved in athletics, music, and church activities. In high school he excelled academically, in track and field, and as a football quarterback. He went on to earn a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Princeton University in 1965 and a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1969. Wayne served as Director of the Princeton Christian Fellowship (formerly Princeton Evangelical Fellowship) in New Jersey for 27 years, and, after moving to Lancaster County, served as Director of Men's Ministry for Water Street Mission, retiring in 2006. He served as an Elder at Westerly Road Church (now Stone Hill Church) in Princeton and at Providence Church in New Providence, PA.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Kerr, of Willow Street, and Sarah Waterman, and her husband Roger, of Seattle, WA, and his grandchildren, Josiah Kerr, Carson Waterman, and Kailee Waterman. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven Wever, and a son-in-law, Ken Kerr.
A Celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 27 at Providence Church, 269 Cinder Road, New Providence, PA 17560, followed by a reception. A graveside service will be held at Princeton Cemetery, 29 Greenview Avenue, Princeton, NJ 08542 at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28. This will be followed by a luncheon and Celebration of Life beginning at 12:15 pm. at Stone Hill Church, 1025 Bunn Drive, Princeton, NJ 08540.

Linda & family: a PEF /PCF birthday party for Wayne in January 1976 was among the 1st activities I attended, before I really knew anyone well. Thinking of & praying for you as this 1st "Wayne birthday in heaven" will no doubt be painful for you though wonderful for him in glory. May His Grace, comfort & everlasting arms be very real

When Judy and I heard about your dad we were thankful because it has been years since he was the man we knew and loved. He was healed at last and with the Lord, your mom, Stevie and the family and friends he loved. I came to Christ in my freshman year. Your dad and mom had just come back to serve with PEF. I started attending the Wednesday night Bible study your dad was teaching. Your parents had students over to your house frequently, as you well know :-). It was such a blessing just to be there and to get to know your parents as a couple who loved each other and us. Judy and I came back to Princeton after I graduated from seminary and served as the assistant pastor at Westerly Road. In the years I was there I got to know and love your parents as mentors and friends. I´ll always be grateful for their ministry to me.

Dear Linda and Sarah, my prayer for you and your families is comfort and a special time of sweet memories of your Dad. He was so significant in my life. I became a Christian my freshman year and his mentoring and personal times with me have been foundational for my life. He and your sweet Mom also did pre marriage counseling for us when I became engaged to Jeannine my Senior year. So many wonderful and impactful memories! Thank you two for sharing him with us!

Wayne & Carol were my 1st Christian mentors when I was a babe in Christ @ Princeton: what a privilege & gift from the LORD that I treasure to this day: in depth teaching of God´s Word, cultivation of love of: real intercessory prayer, a heart for world missions & God´s glory, "being Berean" (Acts 17:11), 1-on-1 discipleship & serving others as unto Him: only the LORD knows how many lives have been touched for Christ across the globe because of Wayne & his family.
I am sorry you have walked through yet another difficult valley, Linda (& Sarah), but so grateful the sting of death is small in light of the hope of reunion in glory

Wangen-im-Allgäu, Germany, June 21, 2025, Dear bereaving ones, I recall meeting Wayne in Princeton, the fall of 1961. Wayne was already a Christian and immdiately became involved in PEF (now PCF). He proved to be very faithful, always attending the daily prayer meetings, 5.30-6.00 p.m., Monday to Friday, and the twice weekly Bible Studies mit Dr. Fullerton. He roomed with Steve Gentry for thrree years. He and Carol were a wonderful choice as successors to Dr Fullerton in 1969. In the summer of 1970, my Mother, then stricken with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Schlerosis), and I visited Westerly Road (now Stone Hill Church of Princeton) and received their lovely hospitality! They , Jonathan & Connie Lee, and Matt Ristucia visited us in Weilheim, Germany, in 1980, when we were involved in Churchplanting there; Wayne had helped out Ernst & Ilse Maier in constuction work. Dear Linda & Sarah: My sympathies to you, in the loss of your Dad. Though I knew that he was physically in decline, news of his Homegoing has very much surprised me. How grateful to the Lord I am, for all that was good about PEF's ministry, in large measure shaped by your Dad & Mom. And it wasn't just the rightly dividing of the Word. They modeled a Christian marriage & a Christian family to me. I still remember, after a dinner at 24 Moore St., family devotions, where he taught you, the kids, about the Golden Calf & its consequences. "They ground it into powder, & mixed it with water. Do you know what Moses then made them do?" Stevie said, "What?" "He made them drink it!" The Wednesday night studies, personal hours, & Sunday Schools taught by your Dad basically gave me an excellent pre-seminary education. And now he has gained, as his earthly work is over. Phil. 1:21-24. Just think. He's re-united with your Mom, Where there's no sickness, no declines, no temptation, no sin. Well done, good & faithful Wever. Thank you, Linda, for all that you did to care for him. Having lived with a quadriplegic for 12 years, I can only imagine how hard it may have been for you. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. Yes, says the Spirit, they will rest from their labors and their deeds will follow them (Rev 14:13). How can I adequately express my thanks to Wayne (and Carol) for their encouragement, teaching, and faithfulness? I was so blessed by their teaching and ministry. Between Dr. Fullerton and Wayne Wever, I was given superb instruction in the faith based on scripture. And now I seek to pass it along.
Wayne had a great sense of humor. One day he asked me to quickly check his engineering calculation for the amount of concrete needed for some project. By then we had calculators that typically used either scientific notation or else way too many insignificant digits. Wayne's calculation was accurate by my quick review, so he asked (with a sly smile) me how many digits he should record. We had a great laugh at that since ready mix concrete for such small jobs typically in 60 lb or 80 lb bags (around 2/3 of a cubic foot). Hardly necessary to have more than one digit past zero!
