Robert Donald "Don" White
Saturday, May 12, 1956 – Wednesday, April 23, 2025
Robert Donald "Don" White, age 68, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at St. Joseph's Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, the city where he first entered this world on May 12, 1956. Don's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his country, and the community that he so dearly loved.
Funeral Services will be held at the Chapel of Lowes Funeral Home on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Tyler Woodson officiating. Interment will be held at Harrelson Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM in the Chapel.
Don was the beloved husband of Robin White of Guyton, with whom he shared 33 years of a life full of love and mutual respect. His sister, Cindi White of Savannah, and his special cousin, Carlene Reaves of Pembroke, were integral parts of his life, providing support and shared memories that only close family can. Don also held a special bond with his brother and sister-in-law, Bob Dawkins (JoAnn) of Kennesaw, and he was a cherished uncle to several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his special friends, Mike & Shelly Tucker of Savannah, with whom he shared a very close relationship.
Professionally, Don served with distinction as a Chief in the Army Corps of Engineers. His work was not just a career but a calling, as he was deeply committed to the Corps' mission of delivering vital engineering services.
As we bid farewell to Robert Donald "Don" White, we celebrate a life lived with honor, kindness, and a deep commitment to others. His memory will continue to inspire all who knew him, and he will be profoundly missed.
