Heaven has gained a Warrior. Sandra Lee White of Abington, Massachusetts passed away September 29th after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, she was raised by her grandmother, Blanche White along with her two sisters Deborah and Denise. She was a force of nature with a mischievous sense of humor and a playful demeanor.

Sandy had a Master's degree from Tufts University and spent much of her adult life in the field of education. She opened and operated her own daycare/preschool for many years, eventually going on to dedicate many more years as a volunteer teacher's aide and eventual multi-media librarian for the Abington Center School. She enjoyed traveling, casinos, theatre and cinema and especially enjoyed Disney and Looney Tunes. She was a league bowler for many years. She was known to enjoy video games, especially Atari and NES, and was a competitive and "creative" monopoly player.

She is predeceased by her grandmother Blanche White, her grandfather Harold White and her two sisters Deborah Johnson and Denise Goff.

Sandy is survived by her brother-in-law, Richard Johnson, her nephews Stephen Johnson, his wife Laurea, David Goff, and Kevin Goff as well as her niece and goddaughter, Kylein Johnson and her partner Kat. She is also survived by her great niece Sarahbeth Johnson, her husband Kyle and her great nephew Richard Johnson the 2nd and his partner Lexy as well as five great, great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her friend and caretaker Rosemary Burns and her husband Jack, who cared for her for over 40 years and her best friend, Janis Bolus and her husband Tom of Kingston, Massachusetts.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on October 10th from 5-7pm at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. All our welcome at the funeral chapel on October 11th at 9:45 am to join in procession before the funeral Mass held at St. Bridget's Church, Abington at 10:30 am. A burial will follow at St. Partick's cemetery, Rockland.
