Robert Lee Wilkins of Shannon was born to the late Eutie Wilkins and Blannie Locklear Wilkins on Wednesday, August 2, 1939 in Robeson County and was born into eternity on Sunday, December 28, 2025 in Cumberland County, completing his journey of 86 years.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister: Sally Locklear. Robert was a farmer by trade and a true lover of life. He enjoyed fishing and riding his Honda Gold Wing Motorcycle. With a great passion for the Shannon Community. He along with Mr. Donald Humphrey began the Shannon Volunteer Fire Department.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Willie Mae Wilkins of the home; two sons: Darius Wilkins and Roderick Wilkins and wife Samantha both of Shannon; one sister: Barbara Oxendine of Pembroke; four brothers: Ricky Wilkins of Michigan, Vicky (Teresa) Wilkins of Red Springs, William (Claudette) Wilkins of Shannon and Gregory (Barbara) Wilkins of Lumberton; eight grandchildren: Shalona, Camron, Gavin, Brooke, Kota, Darren, Cabanna and Dallin; three great-grandchildren: Madison, Elania, Braxlee & Dakota as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2026 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Burial follow in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2026 at Mt. Airy Baptist Church.
Services has been entrusted to Boles Funeral Home in Red Springs.
