Robert "Bob" Windler

Robert "Bob" Windler, 94 of Fowler, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23,
2024 with his children by his side at University Place, West Lafayette. He was born June 1, 1929 in Fowler to Roy and Bertha (Ringle) Windler. Bob graduated from Fowler High School in 1947. He married Rosemary Farrell in Fowler on July 15, 1950. Rosemary passed away on August 5, 2016. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fowler. He operated Windler Pest Control with his brother Jack from 1959 to 1961, then in 1961 Jack left the business, and Bob and Rosemary continued to operate Windler Pest Control, tree and shrub spraying and lawn service. They had their own brand of rodent control chemicals and ran the business until 1988 when they sold a majority of the business. Bob continued to do 2 routes until he was over 90 years old. He attended Purdue pest control conferences for 50 years. He was very active in Little League as a coach and umpire. Bob and Rosemary enjoyed working in the yard and flowers together and traveling.
Survivors include: daughters, Sue (Kevin, deceased) Cox, Nancy (Rick) Deno, sons, Bob (Joanie) and Alan (Lori), daughter-in-law, Pamela J. Windler, grandchildren; Nicole and Jennifer Cox, Jeremy (Jennifer) Deno, Cory (Audrey) Deno and Adam Deno, Kelly Jessie, Shawn (Davinia) Windler, Todd Windler and Troy Windler. Also great-grandchildren, Jena (Jake) Goodwin, Jade, Kyron and Logan Deno, Aiden, Owen and Emma Jessie, Corbin and Amelia Windler, great-great-granddaughter, Blakely Jo Goodwin, sister-in-law, Eileen Windler. He is preceded in death by: brothers and their spouses, Cletus (Georgette), Howard and Jack (Claire) and 2 sisters, Alma (Leroy) Puetz and infant Fern.
Visitation will be held 10am to llam (EST) followed by funeral mass all at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fowler, Monday, January 29, 2024 with Fr. Sean Aaron officiating. A Private family entombment will be held at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic School Direct.
