Robert Wallace Zurlo, affectionately known as Bob, passed away peacefully in Shamong, NJ, surrounded by his loving family on June 22, 2024. Bob was born to Regina (nee Slominski) and Americo Zurlo in Camden, NJ and had an older brother Americo Joseph who he looked at as a father figure.
Bob was married to his beloved wife, Judith, for 57 years until her passing in 2021. After Judith's passing, he found companionship and had a second chance at love with his fiancée, Joan Miller. He is survived by his two daughters, Linda (Eric Halpern) and Laura (Albert Disipio), and his three cherished grandchildren: Jessica, Rachel, and Robert.
Bob was a 9-time award-winning Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service, having served for 43 years. Starting his career in 1963, Bob fought for livable wages in the 1968 postal strike, setting the standard for fair compensation and better working conditions for his fellow postal workers. Bob was rarely seen without a camera at family gatherings, always ready to capture the moment and preserve precious memories. His love for Labrador Retrievers was well known, and he spent countless years alongside them as his beloved companions. A dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Bob never missed a game, and loved fishing on charter boats in Cape May, NJ.
A visitation will be held at The Bradley & Stow Funeral Home, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd., Medford, NJ on July 14th at 1 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2 PM. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Voorhees Animal Orphanage, 419 Cooper Road, Voorhees, NJ 08043 in Bob's memory.
