Robert Earl (Bobby) Zwingle

Bobby was born on March 30, 1935, in Slayden, Tennessee, and died February 16, 2025.

In 1956, he married Dorothy Sue Heath and proclaimed he wanted a “bushel basket of kids.” Indeed, he got his wish. Bobby and Sue had seven children, and he leaves behind a close-knit extended family.

Bobby was one of the early employees at Dupont, New Johnsonville, and went on to work in the construction business until he retired in his 70’s.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Sue Heath Zwingle; son, Paul Lee Zwingle; parents, Evie Waynick Zwingle and L.C. Zwingle; sister, Sharon Zwingle Niles.

Bobby is survived by his six children: Sheila (John) Otto, Cindy (Steve) Sensing, Terry (Cynthia) Zwingle, Sherry (Mike) Anderson, Missy Foster (Ronnie Phillips), Johnny Zwingle (Rachel Novem), 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren; his extended family, Kim and David Williams; sister, Diane (Roger) Harrison; sisters-in-law, Betty (Joe) Fizer and Joyce Heath; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2025, from 12-2 pm at Spann Funeral Home.

Graveside services will follow after the visitation on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Averitt Cemetery in Vanleer, TN, with Bro. Garland Breeden officiating.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Averitt Cemetery or Charlotte Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
