Roberta Buckel Obituary
Roberta H. Buckel, age 85, of Harborcreek, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024. She was born in Erie on August 3, 1938, daughter of the late Elwin and Dorothy A. DeCoursey Hodges.
Spending time with her three boys and family is what gave Roberta the most joy in life. She loved being by the lake watching sunsets and sipping a cup of coffee, listening to music, reading, watching sports, playing cards and attending great-grandchildren's activities. Roberta also enjoyed being part of the church community.
Roberta is survived by three sons, John P. Buckel, Jr. (Elaine), Jason T. Buckel (Vera) and Thomas J. Buckel (Marsha); one brother, Russell E. Hodges (Karen); sisters-in-law, Patricia Buckel and Mary Hodges Lowman; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John P. Buckel, Sr.; one brother, Joel Hodges; sister-in-law, Patricia Vanic; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call at Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Wednesday from 4 pm until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7 pm. Private interment will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to UPMC Family Hospice, 1700 Peach Street, Erie, PA 16501.
