Roberta M. D'Andrea, 81, of West Warwick passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at her home. She was the wife of the late Albert R. "Al" D'Andrea.
She was born on May 31, 1942, a daughter of the late George Hazard Rankin and Therese L. (Robert) Rankin-Leveillee.
Roberta earned a Bachelor's degree from Rhode Island College,and a Master's Degree from the University of Connecticut. She was an English teacher at the West Warwick High School and later served as a librarian at Mercy Mount Country Day School in Cumberland and St. John the Baptist School in West Warwick. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and dedicated homemaker. She was a devout Catholic, an avid reader who loved playing cards and trivia games and was especially fond of animals.
She leaves a son, Gregory M. D'Andrea and wife, Amy of Nevada; a daughter, Renee S. Gibbons and husband, David of Coventry; and five grandchildren, Madison Borrelli, Austin Butzier, Morgan Butzier, Matthew Gibbons, and Samantha Gibbons.
The funeral will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 10 am from the Potvin-Quinn Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in SS. John and James Church, 20 Washington Street, West Warwick. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick. Visitation on Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 5-7 pm in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the West Warwick Animal Shelter, 106 Hay Street, West Warwick, R.I. 02893.
Family and friends are cordially invited to use the online "Tribute Wall" to offer messages of sympathy and condolence along with sharing memories and stories in celebration of Roberta' life.
