Roberta Murdock

Roberta Murdock, born on September 23, 1972, lived a life defined by resilience, faith, and a fierce determination to shine in a world that tried again and again to dim her light. Nothing was handed to her, yet she chose joy, hope, and compassion at every turn.
Roberta met the love of her life, Andy Murdock, at age fifteen during a track meet. Andy had just finished a long jump and called out, "Mark it!"-a moment she met with an eye roll at his arrogance, but it was the beginning of a lifelong partnership. From that moment on, their paths were intertwined. Her bright red hair and warm presence quickly found a home within the Murdock's family. Richard and Marilyn cherished her from the start and she became the daughter they did not know they needed- giving her the gift of cooking, passion for a good book, and teaching her what it means to love unconditionally.
In 1992, Roberta enlisted in the United States Air Force. Though only 5'5" (and a half), she stood tall in her convictions, serving with courage and pride.
Roberta and Andy married in 1994 and later welcomed their two daughters, Ashley Mae and Lyndsey Nicole, who became the center of her world.
In 2005, Roberta was diagnosed with gastroparesis and given six months to live. With characteristic strength, she defied every expectation-fighting for twenty more years and filling that time with purpose, humor, faith, and love. She touched countless lives, sharing her belief in Jesus not just through words, but through kindness, service, and the way she showed up for others even in the midst of her own battles.
To know Roberta was to know kindness-steadfast, generous, and unwavering.
Roberta is survived by her devoted husband, Andy, and their daughters Ashley and Lyndsey (Jeffery Denninger), loving father in-law, Richard, big sister Robin Carr (Bill Carr) and her nephews Billy & Brett Carr, who carry forward her light.
Rather than flowers, the family invites donations to bless the medical professionals who cared for Roberta with compassion and dignity. Contributions may be made to @ashleymaemurdock (Venmo/Cash App) and will be given in her honor, just as she would have wanted.
Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 39 W. Burdick, Oxford on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 10 AM-4 PM with the funeral service at 4 PM.
