Roberta Anne Petrowski Parker
Roberta Anne Petrowski Parker, of League City, Texas, passed away June 21, 2025 at the age of 65. Roberta, fondly known by many as Berta, was born on November 7, 1959, to Roman and Helen Petrowski in Lorain, Ohio. The youngest of three, and the only daughter, she quickly became a tough tomboy keeping up with her two older brothers. In 1963, at the age of four, she moved with her family to Texas when NASA was commissioned in the area and her father was transferred – marking the beginning of a lifelong love for the Gulf Coast.
Back in high school, Roberta participated in basketball, volleyball, track, and even cheer – though it's debatable whether she was in it more for the sports or the friendships. Either way, it worked out. Those years spent in Clear Creek ISD produced several lifelong friendships. She graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1978 and called League City home for most of her life, with twenty-two memorable years spent in San Leon raising her two greatest joys – her children, David and Shawna – who were the pride of her life (after her pets and grandchildren, of course). Hurricane Ike may have eventually taken her house, but not her spirit; true to form, Roberta stayed tough, took it in stride, and kept moving forward.
Life for Roberta was never about material things – it was about family, friendships, music, and life's simple joys. She loved the beach, looked forward to fishing trips, and took part in the Sisters Helping Sisters fishing tournament. A devoted NASCAR fan and a loyal Pittsburgh Steelers supporter – no matter the season's record – she stood by her team with unwavering pride. Few knew she was also an undercover artist, always eager to try out new crafts. Music held a special place in her heart, and wherever Roberta went, there was sure to be a song playing in the background.
Roberta was known for her tough exterior, but beneath it all was a deep well of fierce loyalty and love for the people – and pets – who meant the most to her that continuously shone through. Her daily dose of humor, along with a few of life's other joys, kept her spirits high and her outlook bright. She loved spending time with friends at her brother Diamond's place, the Blue Dolphin, and cherished every moment with her grandkids, who lovingly called her Mana. Everyone that she secretly adored held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roman and Helen Petrowski; her brother Raymond "Diamond" Petrowski; her sister-in-law, Harriette Petrowski; and many dear family members who went before her.
She is survived by her brother, Ron Petrowski of Huntsville, sister-in-law, April Aden of League City; her children, David Parker (Kim), and Shawna Parker (Darian); her grandchildren, Brooklyn, Niko, Jonah, Memphis, Ava, Olivia, and Rian; her nieces and nephews: Rebekah, Jeri, Erik, Billie, Tina, and Roman; along with many other special people in her life.
Her passing leaves a space that can never truly be filled, but her love and laughter continue to echo in the memories she created with all of us. Her legacy lives on through her children, her grandchildren, her family, her friends, and the many lives she touched along the way.
