Roberta Jo Smies

Roberta Jo Smies passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on June 18, 2024.

Roberta was born to Robert and Josephine Smies. She attended Sheboygan Christian School, North High School and went on the study at Calvin University. Roberta worked as a sales associate at Boston Store, Kohls and Penney’s. For the last 10 years she extended her love and understanding as a caregiver in Terrace Place.

Roberta was a member of Bethany Reformed Church in Sheboygan. She loved and valued her extended family and she knew every address and birthday of each niece and nephew. Throughout the year she gathered Christmas gifts for all.

Amid many conflicting obstacles, Roberta maintained a strong inner strength of independence.

Roberta is survived by her son William Terrill Schultz of Berlin Germany and her siblings: Dave (Deb) Smies, Dick (Mary) Smies and Sharon (Herb) Lantinga, all of Michigan and sister-in-law Joyce Smies of Oostburg. 

Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, and brother Ronald Smies.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Wenig Funeral Home, 108 Center Ave. in Oostburg. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00PM-1:00PM. She will be laid at Oostburg Cemetery by her parents.
