Roger Melvin Smies Jr. (Chip), age 62, passed away on October 17, 2024 in Sheboygan Wisconsin with his loved ones by his side. He was born on March 25, 1962 in Sheboygan to the late Roger Sr. and Sylvia Smies. Chip graduated from South High School, earned his CDL (professional driver) from Schneider Trucking Company in the early 90’s and fell in love with the road. In 2010 on February 2nd, Chip married the love of his life, Ruth Winter. Sadly, Ruth left this world on March 27, 2021. Chip was a devoted Christian and wanted nothing more than to be reunited with his beloved Rudy. He loved Dodge Chargers and often reminisced of when he had one of his own. Chip was a down to earth happy man that lit up any room with his smile and spirit. In his youth, he loved camping and having a good time with his family, friends and his pal Jack Daniel’s.
“You're on your own family I love you all” - Chip
Chips spirit continues to live through his step-son Jeremy Winter, his grandchildren Elizabeth and Jessica Schaal, his great-grandchildren Johnathan, Connor, Madisyn, and Jaxsyn.
