Roberta Elizabeth (Hall) Smith of Hingham, Massachusetts passed away at her home in Allerton House on June 7, 2025, with her family by her side.

Roberta was born in 1935 in Charleston, West Virginia to Robert and Geraldine Hall. She and her sister often summered in Niagara Falls, NY with their grandparents and cousins. When she was in high school, the family relocated to Ashtabula, Ohio where she made many life-long friends. After attending college in Ohio and Tennessee, she moved to Massachusetts and graduated from Boston University with a degree in mathematics. She eventually settled in Hingham where she lived for 60 years and served the community as a bookkeeper for residents and local businesses, the Town of Hingham and her church. She loved tennis, gardening, skiing and sailing. Roberta was a devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, friend and neighbor.

Roberta is survived by her son Craig Smith and daughter-in-law Claire Dahill, daughter Leslie Smith and son-in-law Fabian Waleffe, son Glenn Smith and daughter-in-law Renee Smith, grandchildren Colum Smith, Ava Smith, Roger Waleffe, Derek Waleffe, Madelyn Smith and Ian Smith, sister Marguerite Branin, niece Marybeth Brodtman, and nephew Russell Branin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 10 AM on August 2, 2025, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 172 Main St., Hingham.

Memorial donations may be made to her favorite charities; Save The Children, Doctors Without Borders or St. John's Episcopal Church (Hingham).
