Roberta Jane Travis of Scurry, TX went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 22, 2024. Roberta was born January 1, 1939, in Royse City Texas where she also graduated from Royse City High School. She married her high school sweetheart Tommy Leon Travis June 7, 1958. They were married for 57 years before Tommy passed away in 2015. She began her work career with Southwestern Life Insurance Company in Dallas, TX where she spent the next 29 years in various roles. She spent the next two decades working for BossBuck in Seagoville Tx where she was the office manager until they sold. Up until her passing she worked for Aztec Aerobic Systems out of Kaufman Texas as the office manager and accountant full time until a week before her passing at the age of 85. She was a go getter and did not know the word quit. Roberta enjoyed watching TV that had anything to do with public service. Fire, law enforcement, true crime etc. and always had her hair and nails done because it was important. But her most precious time was spent with her family who she loved like no other. She taught Sunday school for many years at Jupiter Road Baptist Church and always loved the children. They all loved Mrs. Roberta. She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband Tommy and her brother George Miller. She is survived by her daughter Theresa (Teri) Wood and her husband Rodney of Canton Texas. Her grandchildren Hayden Scott Owen of Scurry Tx, Fallon Payton Owen of Canton Tx and Kaycee Rae Wood of Rowlett Tx and her sister Polly Barker along with numerous extended family and friends who will miss her presence greatly. There will never be another one like Mimi.
