Robin Smith Obituary
1953 ~ 2025
Mr. Robin W. Smith passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 20, 2025 after a long illness.
Robin was born June 19, 1953 in Waterbury, a son of the late Willard C. and Alma (Hock) Smith. Rob was a 1971 Graduate of Wolcott High School. Over the years, Rob was a faithful employee of Waterbury Hospital, Freihofer Baking Company and Walmart. A lover of the outdoors, Rob enjoyed fishing, skiing, golfing, hiking, gardening and camping. He loved spending time with family and friends (both human and furry), sharing stories of his life adventures, playing setback, going to the movies, attending youth football games, and teaching his nieces how to drive and how to play chess.
Left to cherish Rob's memory are his life-long partner, Palma Recchia, his sister Carley and her husband Pat Lerz, his brother Timothy Smith, his three sisters-in-law, Patricia Mautino, Louise Recchia, Mary-Jo Recchia, nieces and nephews Mari Lerz and her husband Jose Sandoval, Katie O'Connor, Sarah Lerz, Patrick Lerz and his wife Erin, Rebecca Bavelas, Jason Mautino, Nicole DeJesus, Jaime Balboni, and his great nieces and nephews (Jillian, Raeghan, Joseph, Jacob, Benjamin, Grace, Rocco and Natalia).
Arrangements: A celebration of Rob's life will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 12:00 noon, at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Friends may visit with Rob's family from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 12:00 noon.

My dear beautiful cousin Rob. You were one of the kindest I've ever known. I am saddened beyond words by your passing. It is a huge loss to our family.
I will keep you in my heart foreveer with fond memories of the happy times we shared growing up and also as adults.
My heart goes out to dear Palma and to my cousins Tim and Carley. I will be praying for you all and for everyone who loved him.
