Robin D. Wheaton, 62, of Tipton passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2022 in his home.
Robin was born on October 29, 1959 to Eldon and Anna (Bishoff) Wheaton in Addison, Michigan. On October 8, 2016, he married the love of his life, Jonna Ketola, in Brooklyn Presbyterian Church. Until his passing, he had been employed with Knox Accounting & Tax Service, Inc. in Adrian.
Aside from his work, Robin was a past president of the Michigan Tax and Accounting Professionals. He was heavily involved at the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church, where he served on the board and taught Sunday School. For 11 years he was the Paparazzi for Columbia Central Varsity Cheer. An avid University of Michigan fan, he had a particular fondness for his favorite quarterback, Tom Brady.
Above all, Robin loved his family, was a loyal friend, and touched many lives. Those who love him remember how Robin would be there for anyone in need of a friend or a listening ear. He was selfless, and generous.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jonna Wheaton; his children, Brooke Morgan (James), Tayler Schirmer (Nick), Cari Pitchford (Jack), Teri Rankin (Joe), Tera Rankin (Zach), and six grandchildren; his father, Eldon Wheaton; brothers Al Hedrick (Sherry), Eldon Wheaton (Deanna), and Bobby Wheaton; father and mother-in-law John and Ellen Ketola, sisters-in-law Leisa Hayes (Wally), Dawn Bird (Pat), Kendra Fox (Chad), Laura Merritt (Terry), and Patti Schultz; Uncle and Aunt Stanley and Nancy Wheaton, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Robin is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Wheaton and a sister, Bonnie Scarpetta.
Per the family's request, funeral services will be private. However, the family invites you to join them virtually by watching a livestream of the service, which will be available on Saturday, September 10, 11 AM, on the Brooklyn Presbyterian Church Facebook Live Page, which may be accessed by clicking here: https://www.facebook.com/brooklynpres/live.There will be a candlelight vigil in honor of Robin, for the public, held at a later date.

My condolences to Taylor and all of Robin's family. Surely heaven gained a good man. Robin was a kind soul and a dedicated father. Peace be with his family.
