BARRINGTON - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rocco Macri, who passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023, at his home in
Barrington, IL, surrounded by his loving wife of 31 years and his family. He was 91 years old. Rocco was born in Canton, OH. He was a 1949 graduate of Lehman High School. He went on to Ohio University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in commerce and a commission in the Armed Forces. He was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Following graduation he served two years in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a second lieutenant. Rocco then joined GE Capital in their Management Training program. For the next 24 years he would hold various positions in New York City and the New England area with his career taking him to
Barrington, IL as President and General Manager of GE Capital Leasing (GECAL). With his guidance GECAL would become the largest automotive leasing program in the world. Rocco joined Associates First Capital as Executive Vice President of its Commercial Loan, Factoring and Acquisition Division. He relocated to Dallas, TX and in 1992 became Group President and General Manager in the US Housing Services. He retired from the company in 1998 after 17 years of service. Following retirement, Rocco stayed in the Dallas area, where he built his dream home in Las Colinas. Many will remember the huge parties he hosted from his home on the 17th green of the Four Seasons Resort and Club during the Byron Nelson PGA Tournament. Throughout his life Rocco was a gifted athlete and loved sports. He was inducted into the Canton, OH Amateur Sports Hall of Fame in both basketball and softball. Rocco played for the Dallas Rams basketball team in five National Senior Olympics during his seventies. He also loved cheering on the New York Yankees and watching his grandchildren compete in athletics. The culmination of his bucket list was taking his entire family to Italy to share his love of all things Italian. Rocco is survived by his wife, Judy (Miller); and his two daughters, Noell Poidomani (Tony) and their three children, Macray (April), Makenna and Maesyn Poidomani. His daughter, Dayna Imhoff (Scott) and their two sons, Drake and Dawson, who all reside in
Barrington, IL. His niece, Carol Rotundo of Canton, OH and nephew, Frank Rotundo (Caron) of
Pompano Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Beth Ann; his parents, Mary and Angelo Ferruccio; his sister, Theresa Rotundo and her husband, Arthur Rotundo; former spouse, Marilyn "Wendy" Nagy; and his beloved dogs, Simba, Oreo and Bentley. Barrington, IL and the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation. Family and friends will be received on Monday, August 21, from 4- 7 PM at Davenport Funeral Home located in Lake Zurich, IL. A service will be held on Tuesday, August 22, at 11:00 at Saint Anne Catholic Community in
