Rocco "Rocky" Soccio, 97 of Lewistown, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Celebration Villa. He was the loving husband of Joan G. (Smith) Soccio for 70 years. Born on January 29, 1927 in Yeagertown, he was a son of the late Rocco and Caroline (Picchione) Soccio. Rocky was a veteran of the U.S. Army after serving in World War II and was Honorably Discharged. Rocky was a devout Catholic and was a member at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He was also a member and past Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Member of St. John's Council, life member of B.P.O Elks Lodge #663, life member of City Hook and Ladder Company, Brooklyn Hose Company, and Yeagertown Fire Company. Rocky opened up Lewistown Tobacco and Candy Co. and operated the company for 37 years before retiring in 2008. In addition to his wife, Rocky leaves behind his sons, Stephen Soccio and wife, Diane of Lewistown and Mark Soccio and wife, Cindy of Greensburg; 4 grandchildren, Zachary, Nicole, Scott, and Eric, and 3 great grandchildren, Maddison, Elizabeth, and Asher. Including his parents, he is preceded in death by 7 brothers and 4 sisters. A visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Weary officiating. Burial will follow at Juniata Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona, PA 16601.
