Rockell Kelley Vaughn, 89, of Lake Village, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Greensboro, North Carolina in Moses Cane Hospital surrounded by family. She was born on June 10, 1936, in Fayette, Alabama, to her parents, Carlos James Kelley and Omie Essary Kelley. Rockell was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. At 89 years young, she lived a life filled with warmth, love, and unwavering faith.
A devoted homemaker, she found joy in caring for those she loved. Her kitchen was a sanctuary, where the aroma of her famous biscuits and chocolate gravy welcomed all who entered. She delighted in cooking and baking, ensuring that every family gathering was filled with sweetness---not just from her desserts, but from the love she poured into them.
Rockell's greatest treasures were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She had a way of making everyone feel special and cherished. She extended that love to countless families in her community, dedicating years to babysitting and nurturing children as if they were her own.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and her devotion to her church and God was unwavering. She lived as an example of kindness, generosity, and grace---touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though she has left this world, her legacy of love and service remains. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to shine in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vance Vaughn; two sisters, Ann Craft and Jean Vaughn and one brother, Leroy Kelley.
Rockell is survived by two brothers, Thomas Kelley and Rick (Donna) Kelley; one sister, Liz (Burl) Mckenzie; one daughter, Patricia (Vincent) Cheek; one son, Gary (Delinda) Vaughn; five grandchildren, Brittany Hutton, Megan Vaughn, Tiffany Dohner, Jessica Windham, and Trey Windham; and six great-grandchildren.
The Pallbearers are Andrew Vaughn, Joey Pamplin, Russ Beavers, Shannon Shane, Mark Vaughn and Paul Vaughn.
Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Lake Village Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Lake Village Baptist Church with Brother Tim Chennault officiating.
