Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rush Funeral Home - Oakdale on Dec. 4, 2025.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rocksanna Chamberlain Potts will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Christ Church, Oakdale, with Reverends Greg Willis and Mark Swinnea officiating. Interment will follow in Cryer Cemetery, Oakdale, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mrs. Potts, 60, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, in her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Rocksanna lived a life defined by unconditional love, faith, and unwavering service. As a devoted foster parent, she opened both her home and her heart to children in need, offering them safety, comfort, and a true sense of belonging. Her family was her greatest joy, and her grandbabies were the highlights of her life. Everything she did was done with them in mind.
She was a very proud LSU football fan and a lifelong lover of baseball - passions she eagerly passed down to her grandchildren. Whether she was cheering from the stands or gathered around the television, she brought excitement, pride, and her unmistakable enthusiasm to every game.
Those who knew Rocksanna speak of her heart of gold. She helped anyone who needed her, never hesitating and never expecting anything in return. Throughout her illness, she fought with remarkable strength and unwavering grace. She never complained, never lost hope, and carried herself with a dignity that touched everyone around her. Her journey was an inspiration that left unforgettable footprints on every heart she touched.
Above all, Rocksanna's faith guided her. As a dedicated member of Christ Church, she leaned on her relationship with the Lord for comfort, courage, and peace. Her steadfast faith was a powerful example to all who knew her and remains a lasting source of inspiration.
Rocksanna lived and loved with her whole heart. Her kindness, her strength, and her deep devotion to her family will be cherished forever by all who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil Lee Chamberlain, Jr. and Gleta Chamberlain.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of forty-four years, Scotty Potts of Oakdale; one son, Scott Potts of Oakdale; one daughter, Mika Potts Thompson (Matt) of Oakdale; three brothers, Webster Chamberlain, Sr. (Lisa) of Oakdale, Heath Paul of Robeline, and Clifford Chamberlain (Wendy) of Gonzales; three sisters, Melissa Chamberlain of Gonzales, Rhonda Lee Hazelton (DeWayne) of Noel, Missouri, and Shonda Perkins (DeWayne) of Oakdale; twelve grandchildren, Kale (Tabitha), Lundy, Tip, Cora Jo, Kyrah, Ean, Brenon, Hagon, Owen, Rogan, Kealon, and Annabella; and one great grandchild, Collins.
A time of visitation will be held at Christ Church, Oakdale, on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at the church on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Webster Chamberlain, Jr., Levi Hazelton, B.J. Gobert, Brandon Paul, Kyle Potts, Caleb Negron, and Trevor Staehle. Honorary pallbearers will be Kadin Chamberlain and Shelby Potts.
