Rodena "Dena" M. Bosch, age 85, of Niskayuna, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Born on March 26, 1939, in Mayfield, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late Rodney E. and Lena M. (Robbins) Simonds.
Born and raised in Gloversville and Northampton, NY, Dena met the love of her life, John T. Bosch, while obtaining her degree at SUNY Albany. They were married for 63 years and had two beautiful daughters, Becky and Melissa.
Dena was a passionate educator, teaching Physics and Chemistry at Shenendehowa CSD for 26 years. She was a pioneer for women in the field of science.
Dena shared her love of the Great Sacandaga Lake with six generations of her family. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Schenectady, where she founded the Handbell Choir and directed Vacation Bible School.
In her retirement, she embraced her creative side, delighting in building dollhouses, crafting, reading, and spending cherished moments by the Great Sacandaga Lake with family and friends and especially her beloved grandchildren.
Dena lived a life rich in love and faith, leaving a legacy of kindness and dedication to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the countless students she inspired throughout her teaching career.
She was the beloved wife of John T. Bosch; loving mother of Rebecca Miner and Melissa Coyne; dear grandmother of Johnathon G. (Becca) Miner, Sarah T. Miner, Abigail Rodena (Jesse) Fulger and Alexander R. Coyne, and her adored great grandchildren, Augustus M. Fulger, Gabriella R.
