Rodger Dale Brookover, age 77, of Covington, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on November 2, 2025. He was born on October 4, 1948, in Moore's Hill, Indiana, to Ernest and Aileen McIntosh (nee Caudill).
Rodger was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Brookover, and his mother, Aileen McIntosh. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Virginia Brookover (nee Day), to whom he was devoted. He was a cherished father to his daughter, Carol (Cordt) Thobaben, and a loving grandfather to his grandsons, Carter and Colin Thobaben. Rodger also leaves behind his siblings: Rick Bevis, Vicki Bevis, Ronnie Brookover, and Larry Brookover, along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A man of many interests, Rodger enjoyed attending his grandsons' sporting events and could often be found tinkering in the garage or listening to music with his wife, Ginny. He had a passion for golf, traveling, and taking cruises, and he also contributed to his community by working at the Boone County farmers market. Rodger was an avid sports fan, bringing joy to many through his enthusiastic support of various teams.
In lieu of flowers, contributions for Rodger may be made to the Northern Kentucky VFW or the VA.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, with visitation from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, located at 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.
