Rodger H. Hemmes

HEMMES, Rodger H. - of Grand Blanc, Michigan, age 62, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025. Honoring his wishes, cremation will be taking place. A memorial service will be held at 12PM Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Sarah LaRose officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11AM until the time of service at 12PM.
Rodger was born on April 7, 1963, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Marvin and Earlene (Dowland) Hemmes, and was the youngest of five children. He spent his career as a Pipefitter. Rodger was a proud father to his daughter, Tayler, born in 1993. He recently found great joy in becoming a grandfather, welcoming his first grandchild eight months ago. Rodger enjoyed a number of hobbies over the years, especially fishing, hunting, boating, and coin collecting. Some of his favorite memories were annual trips to Cedar Point with Tayler. In his later years, Rodger could often be found at his mother's house, playing cards and helping her with errands.
Left to cherish his memory are: Daughter, Tayler (Michael) Ewald; Granddaughter, Alice Ewald; Sister, Tammy (Curtis) Callahan; Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rodger was also preceded in death by: Brothers: James, Bobby, and Danny; Infant son, Zachary; and his most loyal companion, a Brittany Spaniel named Jojo.
