Rodger Markwell Obituary Rodger Markwell of Shelby, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at Danbury Senior Living in Westerville, Ohio.
Rodger was born on August 2, 1944 in Shelby, Ohio to John Raymond 'Ray' and Mildred Opal (Caudill) Markwell. He graduated from Shelby Senior High School.
Following high school Rodger enlisted in the United States Air Force. Out of the service, Rodger worked professionally as a USWA state certified journeyman electrician primarily for Tech Form and Industry.
Rodger lived his life as a man of faith. Attending church service was a vital component of his life. He loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed a wide range of subjects including math, science, computers, and genealogy.
Rodger is survived by his son, Rodger G. Markwell II and his wife, Jennifer Siler-Markwell, four grandchildren, Ashleigh Markwell; Kaitlyn Markwell; Nicholas Siler; and Reagan Siler.
Rodger was preceded in death by is loving wife, Karen Markwell, whom he wed on June 5, 1965; his parents, John Raymond & Mildred Opal (Caudill) Markwell; and brother, Billy Ray Markwell.
Friends may visit at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby, Sunday, February 23 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM. Father Chris Mileski will be officiating with Richland County Joint Veterans closing the service with military honors. In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
