Rodger Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by River Glenn Cremations & Funeral Services on Feb. 27, 2026.
Celebrating A Life Well Lived

Rodger Dale Smith, 66, of Barling, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Born September 29, 1959, Rodger was the son of Dale and Norma Smith. Rodger married the love of his life, Lori MaGee, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and laughter. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and adoring grandfather who cherished every moment spent with those he loved.

Rodger retired from International Paper Company after many years of dedicated service. Following retirement, he had the opportunity to work at his dream job at The Links, where he combined his love for people and the game of golf. Rodger truly enjoyed life. Whether he was out on the golf course, singing karaoke, playing his guitar, or cheering on his beloved Razorbacks, he embraced each day with enthusiasm and joy.

He will be remembered as a great husband, dad, grandfather, son, and friend - a man whose warmth, humor, and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lori Smith; his children, Dustin, Damon, Degan, Derrah, Shaley, and Mercedez; his grandchildren, Caiden, Madison, Ashton, Connor, Lily, Shevelle, Maebel, and Ella; and his mother, Norma Smith.
