Rodney H. Vande Hey, 60, of Wrightstown, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Born July 9, 1962, in Green Bay, Rodney was the eldest of three children born to Hilary and Beverly (Orlando) Vande Hey. Following his graduation from Wrightstown High School, he went straight to work on the dairy farm with his parents. He also worked for 15 years as a heavy-duty mechanic for semis and tractor trailers.
In the fall of 1981, Rodney married his high school sweetheart, Carol Eiting. This union was blessed with three sons, Matthew, Evan, and Glen.
Rodney enjoyed riding four-wheelers and hunting. Driving tractors and working on the farm brought him a sense of purpose and peace. Not unlike the animals on the farm, he was known for his stubbornness. However, despite his lack of being a 'people person', he adored his family above all else. His children were his pride, and his grandchildren were his joy. He will be missed dearly by those who knew him best and loved him for the soft heart he hid behind his rigid exterior.
Rodney is survived by the mother of his children, Carol; his sons: Matthew, Evan, and Glen Vande Hey; his grandchildren: Abigail, Lauren, Landon, Vivian, and Beverly Vande Hey; his siblings: Wanda (Gerry) Klister and Celina Vande Hey; his nieces and nephews: Corrine and Megan (Martel); Gabbie (Jon) their children Jon Jr. and Killian; Jen (Adam) their children Aurora and Sophia; as well as many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilary and Beverly Vande Hey.
Family and friends may gather Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 6:45 PM at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave, De Pere, WI. A funeral for Rodney will be held at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Fewell officiating.
