Rodney Otto Maas Sr. of Fort Gratiot MI, passed away unexpectedly on July 14th, 2025. He was born on April 23rd, 1965. Rod was a devoted father, brother, and friend.
Rod was a proud small business owner of Port Huron Drywall in Fort Gratiot Township. Rod spent most of his days hosting get togethers for friends and family at his local shop for football and baseball games. On nice days Rod could always be seen cruising through town in his jeep with the top off or on his electric bike. Rod was a frequent patron for all of Port Huron's local watering holes and prided himself on the strong friendships he had within the community.
Rod is the son of the late James Otto Maas and Nancy Lee Maas.
Rod is survived by his two sons, Rodney Otto Maas Jr. (Elizabeth Lester) and Collin R. Maas, brother, James (Bonnie) Maas, Niece, Carly (Greg) Maas and a Nephew, James (Lani) Maas.
He will be remembered for the strong relationship he had with his two sons and the unwavering friendship he shared with his community.
There will be a Celebration of Life Ceremony on Sunday July 27th at the Harju House. 7621 State Rd, Fort Gratiot Township, MI 48059 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
