Rodney Neely Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ingram Funeral Home - St. Marys on Dec. 12, 2024.
Rodney "Rod" Lee Neely, 66, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, at home in Fairfax, VA, surrounded by his loved ones.
Rod was born on March 7, 1958, in Parkersburg, WV, to Calvin and Evelyn Neely. After Rod graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1976, he went on to study industrial engineering at West Virginia University. He spent his successful career working in various engineering roles at The Trane Company in Lexington, KY, before retiring in 2016. His retirement was well-lived by spending time with his family, golfing with friends, cheering on WVU, and traveling the world with his beloved partner, Barbara Silber. His most treasured moments were spent with those he loved. He was adored by his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events, teach them something new, and sing his favorite songs to them while playing his guitar.
Rod is survived by his daughters Sarah (Radim) Neely and Caroline (Jonathan) Stuart; loving partner Barbara (Amanda) Silber; mother Evelyn Neely; sisters Tara Cochrane, Pamala Marucci, Sue (Nick) Morgan, and Lori (Ted) VanScoy; grandchildren Calvin Bruzek, Asher Stuart, Remington Bruzek, and Clara Stuart; ex-wife Jodie Wallace; and many other members of his large, extended family. Rod was predeceased by his father Calvin Neely, niece Kathleen Cochrane DePeiro, and brothers-in-law James Cochrane and Kenneth Marucci.
Funeral services will be on January 4, 2025, at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 with a celebration of life service to follow. An online guest register is available at www.ingramfh.com.
