Rodney Wayne Redd

Redd – Rodney Wayne Redd, age 58, of Lake City, Florida passed away on June 16, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Lake City, Florida on August 18, 1965, to his loving parents, Sammy Lee Redd and Freddie Pittman. Rodney was a lifelong resident of Columbia County. After high school, Rodney embarked on a career as a Concrete laborer at Timmons and Steedley Concrete. Although he spent several years in this role, Rodney discovered his true passion for mechanical services. He dedicated over 20 years of his life as a Diesel Mechanic and was currently serving at Southern Specialized Diesel Shop. Rodney was an avid outdoorsman who found immense joy in fishing, boating, and working on his beloved truck, Ol' Blue, a 1972 Step Side Pick Up Truck that held a special place in his heart. Beyond his mechanical interests, Rodney had a deep affection for animals, particularly his cats and dogs, who were cherished companions in his life. Rodney was certainly one of a kind, goodhearted, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, Sammy Lee Redd; step-father, Jimmy Dees; and wife, Shelby Redd.
Rodney is survived by his loving mother, Freddie Pittman Dees of Lake City, FL; daughter, Kasey (Andrew) Moore of Lake City, FL; brothers, Dennis (Briar) Redd of Old Town, FL and Zachary (Tiffany) Redd of Lake City, FL; sister, Tammy (Rusty) Berry of Lake City, FL; grandchildren, Adan and Kori Moore; companion of over 15 years, Gail Timm of Lake City, FL; along with several extended family members and friends.
A Graveside Celebration of Rodney's Life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Corinth Church Cemetery with Pastor Fred Gaylard officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the cemetery.
