Obituary published on Legacy.com by Flynn & Son Funeral Home - Fords on Feb. 7, 2024.
Rodrigo "Rudy" Rea Sr. peacefully passed away on February 6th, 2024, in his home surrounded by family. He was 91 years old.
Born March 13th, 1932, he was a native of the Philippines. Married to his wife, Maria Rabo Rea, he immigrated to the United States to give his family a better life. He went to Mapua College in the Philippines where he got a degree in chemical engineering. With his knowledge, he came to Brooklyn, New York, later to spend the last of his years in Fords, New Jersey.
He is survived by his four children, Veronica Susan Chan, Rowena Garcia (deceased), Marirose Yoo, and Rodrigo Rea Jr. Along with his countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, uncles, aunts, sisters, brothers, and friends. He adored his family. During the summer, he loved to garden different vegetables. He was a big New York Yankees fan and always watched baseball. Always on the move, he was active and loved to exercise, walking almost every morning. He was known as a father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, best friend, teacher, and most importantly, a hero. He touched people's lives in ways that will never be forgotten. He will be remembered for his intelligence, kindness, perseverance, and strength.
Friends may call at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, and where services will begin on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 10:00am followed by a 10:30am Funeral Liturgy at St. James Catholic Church, Woodbridge.
