Roger Michael "Mike" Boston was born on July 25, 1956 in Swainsboro, GA to the late Katheryne & Desse D. Boston. Mike gave his life to Jesus Christ at a young age and was a member of St. Philip Missionary Baptist Church. He departed this life on Monday, April 14, 2025 at Emory Hospital.

Sports was and is a big thing in Swainsboro, and he played year-round. He played football, baseball, basketball, and track. His father was the principal at the segregated school, so he and his brother, Carlton were always around school and older athletes. He was a quick ball handler, a showman; unmatched. Some say, the best anyone had ever seen, even to this day. He was flashy, cocky, and sometimes could be arrogant, but he backed it up. You had better not step on the basketball court, not ready to play, or he would embarrass you.

He played 4 years of varsity at Swainsboro High School and made the 1974 All-State team. He excelled on the court and delighted Clark, Atlanta and the SIAC fans with his flash. Mike attended Clark College in Atlanta, GA from 1974-1978 and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. In 1993, he was inducted into the Clark College Athletic Hall of Fame.

After college he ventured into the Insurance industry and excelled as a star Agent at Life of Georgia Insurance Agency. On September 19, 1981, he married Sharon Prosser and moved back to Swainsboro. He started his own insurance business, First Boston Financial Group, Inc. He was known as deal maker and negotiator, which led him to lead the charge as the Broker Of Record for the Georgia Funeral Services Practitioners Association. He was an accomplished serial entrepreneur, living by the motto, "You eat what you kill."

Mike always dressed sharply. Everything was always perfect. His hair was neat, whether curly or slick. He enjoyed wearing his jewelry. His tie, gator shoes, and even socks were perfect. He had that bow-legged walk and usually had his trademark cigar in his mouth and his stylish brim hat on his head. He loved to fish, hunt, cut grass, talk trash and spend time with his grandchildren.

He was a community man, leader, mentor and surrogate father to many. He enjoyed life and lived it unapologetically and to the fullest.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Prosser Boston (Swainsboro GA); daughters, Shayna & Miya Boston (Swainsboro, GA) and Caiden Woods (Atlanta, GA), sisters, Yvonne Baskin (Atlanta, GA), Cheryl Brooks (McDonough, GA), brother, Carlton Boston (Cheryl, Lawrenceville, GA), brother-in-law; Tony Prosser (Detroit, MI) grandchildren, Chase Banks, Makenzie Walker, Washaun Ealey, Jr. special cousin/brother, Ronald Habersham and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
