Roger Edmund Burke, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2023, in Hinsdale, IL. Born on February 8, 1940, in Chicago, IL. Roger was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 60 years, Carol (McGreal) Burke. Together, they raised three children, Jeanne Marie, Cathy (Jim) Dudley, and Bob (Melissa) Burke. He was also a cherished grandfather to Julianne, Dan, and Abby Olivieri; Ryan and Timmy Dudley; and Connor and Patrick Burke. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he worked tirelessly to provide them with the opportunities he never had. In his professional life, Roger was known for his ability to "fix anything." He worked hard to ensure his children could attend college. Despite the long hours, Roger always made time for his family, and he was happiest when surrounded by his loved ones. Roger was always the first to lend a helping hand, whether you asked for it or not. Outside of work, Roger had a passion for maintaining an immaculate yard, known to be the 'bestest in the westest." His love for Notre Dame was as steadfast as his love for his family. Above all, his love for his family, especially his grandchildren, remained his top priority. Visitation Monday 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Church of the Holy Family, 1080 West Roosevelt Road, Chicago. Family and friends are asked to meet at Old St. Pats Church, 700 West Adams Street, Chicago on Tuesday for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Private interment at Good Shephard Cemetery. Please deliver all flowers directly to Church of the Holy Family on Monday by 1:00 p.m.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Roger's passing December 1st. So sorry to have missed the wake and funeral.

Roger was always my funny cousin, with wisecracks all the time when we were young. He was good to my mom and dad and I am sure he is missed greatly.
