Roger Lewis Crudup passed away on May 11, 2025 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on April 20, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Jack and Dorothy Crudup.

Roger grew up in Tulsa and Oklahoma City before moving to Arlington, Texas in 1966, where he graduated from Arlington High School in 1967, and from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1975.

Roger began working for ASC Industries in Arlington in 1969, beginning his career in the Aerospace/Defense Industry that lasted for the remainder of his life. He left ASC after 17 years and in 1986 founded Indian Aerospace, Inc., also in Arlington. Two years later, he founded a manufacturing company, Chief Manufacturing, Inc. He served as Owner/President/CEO of both companies until his passing.

Roger married Donna in 1985 in Arlington, Texas and they were happily married for 39 years. They resided in Arlington, Dalworthington Gardens, Kennedale, and finally in Fort Worth. They raised a family and enjoyed many activities with their family and friends, especially travel.

Roger was a hard-working small business owner who was never afraid to do any job at his companies. He had many loyal employees over the years who he came to regard as extended family members rather than co-workers.

Away from work, Roger had many hobbies, particularly golf and fishing. He traveled all over the United States, and occasionally outside of the country in pursuit of these activities. In particular, his favorite fishing locations were in Oklahoma and Oregon. He also enjoyed traveling to play some of the most famous and challenging golf courses in the USA.

Roger was a single-digit handicap golfer for most of his adult life. He was a member of Walnut Creek Country Club, Great Southwest Golf Club, and for over 30 years a member of Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth. Many of his closest friends were fellow golfers he encountered over the years at these clubs. Some of his favorite memories were the many golf trips he took over the years with his golf buddies.

As his children grew older and gave him grandchildren, Roger took great joy in family gatherings to swim and barbecue in his back yard in Kennedale.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Milton Crudup of Carefree, Arizona, and Dorothy Lewis Crudup of Arlington, Texas.

Roger is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Donna Crudup of Fort Worth; his four sons: Chad Crudup of Arlington, and Dr. Travis Crudup (wife Melinda) of Fort Worth from his first marriage; Brad Crudup (wife Reagan) of Arlington, and Scott Crudup (wife Hilary) of Fort Worth; Sister Susan Johnson of Joshua, Texas and Brother Steven Crudup of Fort Worth; Granddaughter Sophia Crudup and Grandsons Logan, Jack, and Hudson Crudup.

A memorial service will be held at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas at 3:00 PM Friday, May 30. The family will be greeting friends and relatives shortly afterwards at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorial donations be made to the Scleroderma Research Foundation: https://srfcure.org/support-us/ways-to-give/

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Harris Methodist Hospital, particularly to their Palliative Care and Hospice Departments for their care for Roger in his final days.
