Roger J. Denis, age 89 of De Pere, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 3, 1935, in Green Bay to the late Lewis and Johanna (Vercauteren) Denis. He graduated from De Pere High School, class of 1952. Roger enjoyed dancing and on September 11, 1954, he married his dance partner, Nancy Vanden Langenberg. He was a dairy farmer his whole life until his retirement in 1996. Roger loved to play cards, especially Sheepshead, and spend time with family and friends. He truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching them play their various sports. After retirement, Roger had time to do a lot of woodworking, making many different things, including bedroom sets for all the grandchildren. He liked to ride his bicycle, travel, snowmobile (was a member of the Ledgeview Snowmobile Club for 35 years) and go camping with family and friends. He will be missed by so many friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, children; Karen (Geoff) Wolff, Kathy (Todd) Gouin, Ken (Terri) Denis, Dan (Darlene) Denis, Diane (Bryan) Cleven, Bill (Barb) Denis and Amy (Dennis) Winter, grandchildren; Michelle (Chris) Rosenhahn, Sarah (Darius) Rotea, Chad (Nicole) Gouin, Jessica (Ryan) Baudhuin, Amber (Ashley) Hinds, Nicole (Mark) Hieronimczak, Angie (Paul) Chapa, Breana (Jason Bessert) Cleven, Danielle (Seth) Traeger, Kyle Cleven, Bailey (Danny Van Effen) Denis, Kasey (Carson Licht) Denis, Isaac Denis, Mitchell (Beth) Winter and Jacob Winter as well as 24 great grandchildren. Roger is further survived by his brother, Charlie (Pat) Denis and sister in law, Ruth Watermolon and Ann Vanden Langenberg.
Preceding him in death are his parents and brothers, Leland (Eunice) Denis and Dick (Pat) Denis.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Parish, 4805 Sportsman Dr., Ledgeview from 9:00am until 11:15am, with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30am, Fr. Mike Ingold officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of Home Instead Home Healthcare, Unity Hospice and St. Vincent Hospital for all of the wonderful care given to Roger.
