Roger Hallsell, a cherished father, devoted husband, and esteemed air traffic controller, passed away on May 6, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 72. With his beloved wife Becky and his Mother-in-Law by his side, Roger left this world surrounded by the love that defined his life.

Born on February 26, 1953, in Rison, Arkansas, Roger's journey began in a small town that would shape his character and aspirations. He graduated from McClellon High School in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1971 and pursued higher education at the University of Central Arkansas, earning his degree in 1975. With a spirit unbounded by geography and an affinity for the skies, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a Senior Air Traffic Controller in Memphis, Tennessee, where he skillfully ensured the safety of countless flights. His passion for aviation did not end there; he later found joy in imparting his wealth of knowledge to future generations of air traffic controllers as an instructor in Oklahoma City.

Known for his great sense of humor, Roger had a unique ability to light up a room with laughter, often using wit to connect with others. He was a man who loved his family with all his heart, forging bonds that would last a lifetime and leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to share in his life.

Outside of his professional achievements, Roger carried a profound love for flying. In his younger days, he owned a plane that not only took him to the skies but also allowed him to create memories with his family as he flew them to various destinations. Time spent in the air, alongside his loved ones, brought him immense joy, intertwining his passions with cherished experiences.

Roger is survived by his wife, Becky, a steadfast partner who stood by him through all of life's ups and downs. He leaves behind children Troy and his wife Erin of Great Falls, Montana, and Lauren Morgan of Memphis, Tennessee, along with three adoring grandchildren: Tyler, Jacob, and Emily. His family continues to celebrate the legacy of love and laughter he instilled in their lives. He is also survived by his former wife, Linda Davis, and siblings: brothers Rodney and his wife Pat of Corinth, Texas; Ronnie and his wife Sally of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Roland and his wife Diane of Benton, Arkansas; and sister Anita Mounger of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Roger was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Weldon and Lois Hallsell, and by his cherished son-in-law, Jake Morgan. Their memories will forever remain a part of his story.

As we reflect on Roger's life, we remember a man who soared high both in the sky and in the hearts of those around him. His legacy will live on in the laughter shared, the flights taken, and the bonds that continue to be woven among family and friends. Roger Hallsell's spirit will forever be missed, yet his love shall remain a guiding light for all who knew him.
