Roger A. Hulslander, 75, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 30, 2023, at his home. Roger was born April 18, 1948, in Brooklyn New York to George and Helen (Bunker) Hulslander. He graduated from the High School of Art and Design in New York City in 1965, where he majored in architectural drafting and design. He graduated from Dickson High School in Dickson, Tennessee in 1966, majoring in general education. Roger attended Austin Peay College in Clarksville, Tennessee. In November 1967 he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as an Aircraft Maintenance Technical Instructor and retired from active-duty December 31, 1989, with the rank of Master Sargent.
Following military service Roger served as a training instructor with Rice Aviation, T.I.M.C.O, and Lochhead Martin Corporation. He married Patricia Blackledge March 12, 1999. In retirement, Roger enjoyed houseboating in North Carolina and cheering on the University of North Carolina Basketball Team. A true car enthusiast, Roger enjoyed numerous classic cars over the years, but had a special place in his heart for the Corvette. Roger will be remembered for always having a great story and his kindness to others.
Roger is survived by his wife Pat; brother-in-law, Donald (Betty) Blackledge; nieces, Alyson & Suzanne; a nephew, Roy; and great-niece, Brooklyn. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Hulslander.
The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Thursday, January 4, 2024, from 10:00 am until time of the funeral service at 11:00 am. Interment: Clay Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be directed to Paws & Whickers Cat Shelter or a charity of the donors choice.
