Lexa, AR, his GREAT grandson Henry Allen Von Kanel, his brother Charles Bryant Johnson, Sr of
Lula, MS, his dogs, Sissy and Bo, and many, many other family members and special friends who loved him dearly, particularly his best friend, Boo Boo (Mark LaBouve). He proudly carried his father's name and was even more proud to give it to his son. His oldest grandson, Tucker Allen, and his great grandson, Henry Allen, are also named after him, which made him so happy and proud. His family was his everything, and everyone knew it. His grandchildren & great grandson brought him immense joy, and they will forever treasure the MANY special memories they made with their Pops. The only thing he was more proud of than his family, was his relationship with Jesus Christ. He gave his life to The Lord on August 2, 2004, on the pier at Johnson Bottoms, and has been a faithful servant of Christ ever since. If the Lula Baptist Church doors were open, you could always find him there.
Allen was born on September 24, 1953, in
Clarksdale, MS. He loved to hunt, as we all know, especially when it was with his grandchildren. He was a long-time member of Old River Hunting Club and Blands Bayou. He graduated from Lee Academy in
Clarksdale, MS in 1972, and was immediately put to work by his daddy. He was a cotton farmer all his life, alongside his daddy and brother, and later, his son Trey and son-in-law, Randy, until his retirement 2 years ago. He loved being a farmer, and he was a good one.
Allen was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 48 years, Beverly Blackwell Johnson, his parents Roger Allen Johnson, Sr. and Emma Ellingburg Johnson, and his mother and father-in-law, Charles Henry Blackwell and Gwen Blackwell.
