Roger Milford Lovely, born on February 9, 1955, in Cincinnati Ohio, peacefully passed away at his home in Ft White surrounded by his family on August 11, 2024. Roger gave an admirable 30 years serving Alachua General Hospital, where he worked tirelessly in medical maintenance. His commitment to his career was unwavering, and his contribution to the well-being of others was immeasurable.
A man of integrity and honesty, Roger's proudest accomplishments revolved around his strong personal code. He firmly believed in the power of truth and lived his life by that principle, never wavering in his stance against deceit.
In his leisure time, Roger found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was fixing broken items, trying his luck with scratch-off lotto tickets, or simply relishing the outdoors, he found contentment in the everyday moments. He had a fondness for good books and music, finding beauty in all genres and forms of art. His ability to connect with nature was remarkable, earning him the title of the wildlife "whisperer" among his loved ones. Roger's playful spirit also shone through in his love for games and the occasional prank.
A man of family and friendship, Roger is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Beverly Lovely, their children James Patrick Lovely, Jessica Lyn Lovely Purser, and Christian Allen Lovely, as well as his grandchildren, Alan Butch Purser, III and Reece Nathaniel Lovely. He is also survived by his sisters, Pamela Rae Lovely Bourg, Harriet Ann Lovely Benchoff, and Lydia Inez Lovely Featherston. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frona Bell Lovely and his sister, Delilah Janette "Jan" Lovely Davis.
Roger's life will be honored and celebrated at the Archer-Milton Funeral Home in Lake Butler. A visitation will be held on August 17, 2024, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00pm.
