Roger was born on August 18, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa. Roger was a man of simple pleasures and contagious smiles. He had a profound love for old westerns, spending countless hours watching John Wayne take on his role as the American cowboy. Roger was a man of few words, but shared a great love for time spent with family, whether it was trips taken to Branson, Missouri or holidays together endulging in home cooked meals. These moments together with family, one may consider, were a highlight for him.
A true Iowan at heart, Roger was a true supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes. His love for throwing on a Hawkeye's T-shirt was a testament to his loyalty and pride to his home state. Roger also found great joy in being outside as he may have been found fishing, camping, or other outdoor activities that allowed him to unwind and enjoy life's simple pleasures. In addition, animals held a special place in Roger's heart, especially dogs. He was known for his benevolent and caring nature towards all animals, but dogs were his true companions and they loved him right back.
Roger Marsh was a man who will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and boundless love for animals. Generations will carry the memories of his gentle presence and great poise at family gatherings; always counting on Roger to delightfully come back for "seconds" if it was a Williams' home cooking. Though he may not have been one for conversation, his actions spoke volumes about the kind person he was.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents William and Eva Marsh; and sister Marion Williams. He will be deeply missed by his siblings: Gene (Marilyn) Marsh, Carl (Pat) Marsh, Sharon Rahe, Neva (Leland) McCormick, and Sherry (Robert) Lamb; his brother-in-law Harlan Williams and many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
