Roger Lee McKenzie

Roger Lee McKenzie, 79, of Phenix City, AL died at Piedmont Columbus, Midtown, Columbus, GA on Wednesday, December 24, 2025.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM (EST) on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, in Lakeview Memory Gardens., Phenix City, AL with Mr. Allen Roelkeyn and Mr. Derrick Watts officiating according to Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. McKenzie was born March 13, 1946, in Galax, VA son of the late Elmer Lee McKenzie and Audrey Kathleen Leath McKenzie. He had retired from Mead Coated Board, now West Rock, after 42 years of committed service as a Crew Leader in the Lumber Yard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling. He was also an avid Alabama Football fan.

He will be missed by his wife of 50 years, Billie Biddy McKenzie, who he courted for seven years before he finally won her over, his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Ms. Billie, survivors include his sisters, Joyce Franco, Seale, AL, Janice Dillard, Opelika, AL, Bonnie June Compton (David), Tower Hill, IL, Debra Krause (Craig Carroll), Dothan, AL, and Kathy Palmer (Adrian), Seale, AL; brother Michael McKenzie (Lynn), Seale, AL; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces, nephews and friends.
