It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roger Leon Miller Jr., who left us on April 17, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on March 1, 1961, in Metairie, LA, Roger was a true grit Louisiana man who spent most of his life in Lake Charles.
Roger was known as a "gearhead" who loved old cars and motorcycles, always finding a reason to turn a wrench and dive into his latest project. Growing up with his brother Robert, he learned the value of hard work from an early age. The two shared many memories, often joking that they spent more time parking their father's trucks backwards than driving them forward! As a young man Roger learned how to work on his father and Uncles work trucks in between their truck driving hauls. This is what started his passion for vehicles.
With a larger-than-life personality, Roger had a way of making friends wherever he went; he truly never met a stranger. Blessed with immense talent and an entrepreneurial spirit, he had a knack for finding success in everything he pursued. Whether in business or his adventures on the open road, Roger embraced life to the fullest. He spent many sunny days riding with friends, enjoying the thrill of the open road from Arkansas to Sturgis.
Above all, Roger cherished the love of his life, Sarah May Miller. Together for thirty wonderful years, they created a joyful life filled with laughter and countless memories.
Roger leaves behind his loving wife, Sarah Miller; mother, Yvonne Miller; sons, Jacob Miller, Dustin Fowler, and Derick Fowler; daughter-in-law, Ashly Fowler; brother, Robert Miller; sisters-in-law, Rose Miller and Debbie Schafer; brother-in-law, Jerry Schafer; three granddaughters, Madison Roby, Rebecca Fowler, and Kaylee Fowler; and numerous nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his father Roger Leon Miller Sr.; nephew, Casey Miller; and his in laws Mr. and Mrs.
John May.
A Visitation will take place on April 26, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home following services. Roger's spirit will be missed, but his legacy of love, adventure, and hard work will live on in all who knew him.
