Roger B Miller

Roger Braxton Miller, 83, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026. He was born on April 18, 1942, in Fort Pierce, Florida, to the late James Miller and Elizabeth Rogers Miller. A proud fifth-generation Fort Pierce native, Roger carried a deep appreciation for the history, people, and traditions of the community that his family had called home for generations.

Roger graduated from Dan McCarty High School and later earned a degree in agriculture from the University of Florida. He dedicated much of his career to the Saint Lucie County School Board, helping guide and inspire many young people through agricultural education.

Roger also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. His service and work ethic reflected the values he carried throughout his life-commitment, integrity, and quiet dedication to others.

Outside of his professional life, Roger enjoyed camping and appreciated the peace and simplicity of nature. He was a faithful member of Orange Avenue Baptist Church and generously gave his time volunteering at the Saint Lucie County Historical Center, where he enjoyed helping preserve the local history of the community he loved.

Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sheila Miller. He is survived by his loving partner, Adele Lowe; his children, Marie Jenkins, Leah Ivey (George), and Patrick Miller; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Leslie Miller (Sherry) of Cumming, Georgia; his nieces and nephews, Aaron DeHart, Daniel Jones, William "Sam" Jones, and Laurie Gehring, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Roger will be remembered as a steady, kind-hearted man who valued family, service, and the traditions of his community. His presence, wisdom, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
