Roger A. Ninmer

Roger August Ninmer, age 89, passed away on November 7, 2025 at Mercy Hospital, Janesville, WI. He was born on August 5, 1936, in Sheboygan, WI, the son of Walter and Alice Ninmer. He was a three-sport varsity letterman at Sheboygan Central High, graduating in 1955. He attended teacher college in Sheboygan Falls and received his Master of Science in teaching from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Roger served in the United States Army until 1961, serving as a Tank Commander in Korea, while teaching GED to his fellow enlisted men. In the summer of 1970, he married Gail Warkentein. They were married for 55 years before she preceded him in death in July of 2025. He worked for a time as Assistant to the Brewmeister at Kingsbury Brewery before being hired to teach at the Newville School in 1964. He taught for several years in Newville until it was closed, finishing his career at Edgerton Community Elementary. He "retired" in 1995 but worked as a substitute for many years after. Mr. Ninmer had the ability to bring out the best in others, especially his students. He made them feel special and brought joy and knowledge to many children over the years. Roger is survived by his children Roger, Derek (Michele), and Kate (Tim); his grandchildren, Neva, Sophie, Leyla, Paige, and Gracey; his brother, Tommy; sisters, Jane, Nancy, Grace, and Ann. Besides his parents, and his wife Gail, he was preceded in death by his siblings Robert, Ralph, Walter, and Mary. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday November 14, 2025, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Edgerton.
