Roger Nyborg

Roger Alan Nyborg, 87, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025 in Cedar City UT. Roger was born June 9, 1937, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Alan James Nyborg and Josephine Ruth Balmforth.
Roger married Bonnie Painter on November 5, 1966, and together they shared a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. He was a proud father to his daughter Teresa.
Roger was a hard worker throughout his life, holding positions at Anaconda Mining Company, Glasgow Air Force Base, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Cedar City Housing Authority to name a few. He took pride in working with his hands and enjoyed horseback riding, attending church every Sunday, and spending time at the Senior Center playing bingo and dancing. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Roger found joy in his faith and community. He was a friend to everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter Teresa (Ezra Nielsen) Colorado City AZ, three brothers, and four sisters. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bonnie, his parents, one brother, two sisters and his beloved dogs -Little Bit, Pacarama, and Maddie-who brought him great comfort and companionship.
Roger will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the deep love he shared with his family, friends, and animals. Roger will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. We would like to give special thanks to Merilee and Melissa who showed Roger great love and compassion while caring for him.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary (190 N 300 W. Cedar City UT), Viewing will be held the same day beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary. Interment will be at 4:00 p.m. at the JW Black Cemetery in Cane Beds, Arizona under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences can be sent at www.mortuary.org
