Floyd Brent Nyborg

Floyd "Brent" Nyborg passed away peacefully on January 10 with his family by his side. He was born August 20, 1936, as the first child and only son of Floyd R Nyborg and Beulah Rachel Sermon Nyborg in St. Anthony. Two sisters, Mary Glee and Gay Linda, later completed the family.
He grew up helping his father, the local cemetery's sexton. He was adored by his parents and younger sisters. He attended South Fremont schools, participating in choir, baseball and the ski team. He graduated in 1954, and on December 6 of that year, embarked on a new adventure by join the United States Navy. Serving aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin, he had the opportunity to see the world. He served for four years and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1958.
Following his military service, he attended Ricks College and continued his education at Brigham Young University (BYU), where he graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Range Management. While at BYU, he met his future wife, Martha Leone Lambert of 60 years, at a Fish & Game deer check station. They married on October 14, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple.
He and his wife were blessed with four children: Katrina (Scott) Lyman, Kristin Hamilton (Eric) Sligar, Eric (Crystyna) Nyborg and Rik Nyborg.
He was a hardworking, honest man who dedicated his life to his family and his country. He worked for the Idaho Department of Fish & Game for 27 years and retired in 1996. He often said he got paid to do what most men would pay to do.
In addition to his career with Fish & Game, he also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant in October 1996. He loved his family and his country and served both with integrity and honor.
He is survived by his wife Martha; children Katrina, Kristina, Eric and Rik; and their families. His grandchildren include Josie (Braxton) Lyman, Audrey Brandon, Presley Lyman; Kodi, Kylie, Nathan, Shelton (Jordyn) Hamilton; Anna (Douglas) Nichols, Sylvia and Roger Lupinski; Taylor, Courtney (Sander) Brown; Payton, Payge and Paylnn Nyborg. He also leaves behind many great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, January 17 with a viewing at 9:30 a.m. and a service at 10:30 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center on Daisy Street. Burial will follow at the Salmon Cemetery with military honors.
