Mr. Roger Edward "Teeta" Rowell, Sr., 79, died Saturday morning (February 22, 2025) at Hospice House Satilla after an extended illness.
He was born November 17, 1945 in Ware County to the late Howard Arley Rowell and Sarah Elizabeth Corbitt Rowell. Roger graduated from Manor High School in 1963, and he was formerly employed by Borden Milk and retired from GATX. Affectionately known as "Teeta", he enjoyed drag racing, watching westerns, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Jane Lee.
Survivors include his son, Roger "Robbie" E. Rowell, Jr. (Kathy) of Manor; grandchildren, Ansley Rowell Delk (Austin) and Austin Rowell (Blakeney); great grandchildren, Tate Delk, Blythe and Bexley Rowell; two brothers, William H. "Billy" Rowell (Marie) and John W. Rowell (Vickie) both of Manor; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday (February 25, 2025) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Camp Branch Providence Cemetery in Manor. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Satilla Hospice House, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501.
