Roger Michael "Mike" Stright, 71, of Hillsboro, Ohio, left this world peacefully as he was called home to be with Jesus on February 19, 2024. He had suffered much physically and often said how he loved Jesus so much and wanted to just go home to Heaven.
He was the son of the late Roger and Bonnie Stright, whom preceded him.
Surviving are his loving wife of 22 years, Ruby; and his stepgrandson, Jim Moore, that lives with them; daughter, Briana (Zach) O'Dell; stepson, Josh (Lisa) Avery; several grandchildren; brother, Gary (Michele) Stright; and sisters, Becky Singree and Sheri (Tom) Harvey.
Mike was a faithful member of the Wesleyan Nazarene Church in Rainsboro, Ohio, and served as Treasurer until his decline in health. In 1999 Mike volunteered for a Missionary Construction Project and took a trip to Ukraine.
Mike attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio Majoring in Pharmacy.
Mike worked at Kroger and was a Kroger Manager for 25 years and won several awards for outstanding performance; after leaving Kroger, he stayed in management for other opportunities for several years; and taught 7 classes of Junior Achievement Classes at Ross County Schools.
He was involved in many community organizations, fund raisers, and projects, and was considered a community leader in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was elected to leadership positions in many organizations.
He will be greatly missed by all those who loved him and we will remember his wonderful and fun sense of humor before his illness. Everyone that met him will never forget how he always witnessed about how he became a Christian.
Calling hours will be observed 5 – 8 P.M. on Friday, February 23, 2024, and 9 – 10 A.M. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the church.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the Wesleyan Nazarene Church, Rainsboro, Ohio with Pastor Chet Waters officiating.
Burial was in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery, Circleville, Ohio.
Arrangements were by the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio.
