Services for Roger Allen Taylor, 70, of Wilson, will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Alexander Gray Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Rev. Mike Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at Hewitt Cemetery.
Roger was born June 25, 1955, at Wilson, to the late Mr. Erbie Jackson Taylor and Mrs. Dorothy Lee (Thomas) Taylor-Shores. He departed this life Monday, November 17, 2025, at Kingston, OK.
Roger was raised in Wilson, where he completed his education at Wilson High School, graduating in 1973. During his high school years, he excelled in track and earned the honor of being a state finalist, showcasing his dedication and athletic spirit. On July 30, 1982, Roger married Lois Ann Way, a union that was far too brief, as Lois sadly passed away on May 24, 1984. Roger later found love again and married Laurie A. Taylor on September 21, 1987, in Ardmore. Together, they created a warm and supportive home in Hewitt, where they shared countless memories and strengthened their bond. Roger dedicated many years of his professional life to working as an Administrative Clerk at VE in Springer. In addition to his career, he was known for his passion for the outdoors. An avid outdoorsman, Roger found joy in spending his time hunting and riding his bike over many miles, embracing the beauty of nature and the thrill of adventure.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Erbie and Dorothy Taylor; brother, Gary Taylor; niece, Kerri Dawn Taylor.
Survivors are his wife, Laurie of the home; sister, Janet Asbury of Wilson; brothers, Jackie Taylor and wife Brenda of Cañon City, CO., Ronald Taylor and wife Mindy of Hewitt; sisters-in-law, Pennye Taylor of Gainesville, TX, Elaine Johnson and husband Keith of Farmington, AR, and Debbie Shores of Pooleville; brother-in-law, Trent Taylor and wife Merry of Wilson; uncles, B.J. Thomas of Garland, TX and R.D. Thomas of White Deer, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brent Johnson, Christopher Taylor, Mark Asbury, Daniel Taylor, Robert Brown, Chris O’Daniel, and Carl Bishop.
Honorary bearers are Riley Beck, Keith Hallum, Rick Camplain, and Terry Uzzel.
